My Favorite Looks: The Cannes Film Festival, 2013

There were some fantastic looks at the Cannes Film Festival this year... as well as some weird ones. Let's get started!

Alessandra Ambrosio looked sleek and sexy in this sparkling, slinky number. (Yay alliteration!)

I'm normally not one to favor pantsuits, or weird round neckline things, but Carey Mulligan makes this one look chic and classy.

Cheryl Cole in nude and burgundy. Damn.

Say what you want about Dita Von Teese, but she knows what she likes. A perennial fan of vintage looks, the burlesque dancer turned heads in this beautiful coral cocktail dress.

Pure white was one of the themes of the evening, and while this is a good example of it, I won't say it was my favorite. That honor goes to....

Marion Cotillard's unique sense of style was perfect here, where she looked positively radiant in this clean, crisp white gown.

Emma Watson's pretty crimson dress just reiterated her status as a youthful fashion icon.

There are few people who can rock this color like Frieda Pinto. It is a beautiful dresses that perfectly suits her skin tone, and her elegant makeup and hair just up the 'awesome' factor that much more.

I do love a great red dress, and Jessica Chastain has definitely found a GREAT ONE.

Another Lady in White was Isla Fisher, who wore this pretty white cocktail dress that I'm super jealous of. (Anyone know where I can find a copy of this dress?)

This is rumored to be the dress that Anne Hathaway intended to wear on Oscar night, only to change her mind at the last second. (She ended up wearing that pale pink, nippley thing that we shall not mention.) Here, Nicole Kidman works it like a pro- when you're a Hollywood legend, you wear what works, and the devil take the hindermost.

Marion Cotillard in a beautiful white cocktail dress and nude heels.

I'm beginning to see a pattern here, Marion. But it works, so just keep doing it. I love how classic and structured this sort-of-spaceage dress looks.

Milla Jovavich. Enough said.

I've always prayed that puffy sleeves wouldn't come back in style (way to 1985 for me,) but if they look as good as Rosario Dawsom looks in this beautiful gold number, I'll be ok with it.

Isla Fisher, sporting her character Myrtle Wilson's favorite color, red. Gatsby would be proud.

And now for the weird....

Business on the top, Disney Princess on the bottom. Way to go, Berenice Bejo.

You remember how I said I'm not normally a fan of pantsuits ? This is why. Way to go, Berenice Bejo.

Florence Welch decided that rather than wearing an uncomfortable evening gown, she'd just have a dress made out of her silky pink pajamas. And bring a little pink purse with it. Cute?

Um... who are you, and what are you wearing? Why do I need to see your legs through this dress? Why not cut the weird curtain at the bottom off and wear a slammin' minidress? What is this?

Eva Longoria is being eaten by a muppet. That is all.

And last, but certainly not least (in fact, WORST)...

Paris Hilton, who is of the unfortunate belief that pale pink sparkles and feathers/generally looking like Vegas Showgirl Barbie is an acceptable/attractive thing for a thirty-something year old.
